Project Accountant
L. Rose Recruiting is partnering with Dix.Hite + Partners to identify an experienced Project Accountant to join their team in Longwood, Florida.
Dix.Hite is an award-winning landscape architecture and planning firm known for creating impactful spaces that shape communities. Their work spans mixed-use developments, multifamily communities, parks, trails, transportation projects, and master-planned communities across the southeastern United States.
This role plays an important part in supporting the financial health and success of projects from initiation through completion while partnering closely with Project Managers and leadership.

What You Will Do
You will support the financial management and administrative oversight of projects, working closely with project managers and leadership to ensure projects are properly structured, billed accurately, and tracked against budgets.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing project financial setup and monitoring project budgets
Preparing and processing client invoices and ensuring contract compliance
Supporting accounts receivable and collections tracking
Reviewing contracts and proposals to understand billing requirements
Assisting with subconsultant contract preparation and documentation
Monitoring labor charges, consultant invoices, and reimbursable expenses
Supporting communication between project teams, consultants, and accounting
Assisting with financial reporting and project performance tracking
How You Will Do It
You will leverage strong attention to detail, financial analysis skills, and collaboration to ensure projects run smoothly from a financial perspective.
Project Setup & Financial Management
Set up new projects in project management and accounting systems
Ensure accurate fee structures, billing terms, labor categories, and phases
Assist project managers with budgets, forecasts, and financial tracking
Monitor project performance against budgets and workplans
Billing & Revenue Management
Prepare and process monthly client invoices including hourly billing, progress billing, and reimbursables
Verify billable rates, contract compliance, and documentation
Coordinate invoice narratives and submission with project managers and principals
Support accounts receivable and collections activities
Contract & Administrative Support
Review project proposals and contracts to understand financial terms
Assist with subconsultant contracts and documentation
Monitor certificates of insurance for clients and subconsultants
Cost Control & Financial Analysis
Track labor charges, consultant invoices, and reimbursable expenses
Support review of timesheets and expense reports for accurate project coding
Qualifications
Required
5+ years of experience in Project Accounting, ideally within an Architecture, Engineering, or Planning firm
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook)
Experience with Deltek Ajera or similar ERP/project accounting systems
Preferred
Experience within Architecture, Engineering, or Planning firms (A/E industry)
Working knowledge of Deltek Ajera
Project management certification (PMP or similar)
Experience working with DOT contracts

Salary range: $75,000 – $85,000
